According to recent statements by the president of the Venezuelan Chamber of Pharmacies (Cavefar), Alicia Pinedo, a 100 % guarantee of medicine supply nationwide is in place.
The executive emphasized on Monday, January 5, that inventory replenishment will be carried out continuously and in all states of the country, asserting that “the pharmaceutical sector has a high level of commitment.”
Pinedo indicated that the pharmaceutical sector guarantees full supply “and a minimum of 85 %.” She also emphasized that the country is producing medicines in line with demand and that the products are being distributed.
This allowed for the complete restocking of medicine shelves during the industry’s collective vacation period between November and December, ensuring that production did not slow down, and that shortages did not occur.
In a joint effort with government sectors, the industry has a guaranteed supply of diesel fuel “so that distribution can take place, and therefore inventory replenishment will be carried out continuously and in all states of the country,” Pinedo explained in an interview with Unión Radio.
