Bancamiga and MFM Foundation celebrate achievements of the “Image and the Word” Program
After participating in the program's workshops, students created short publications, edited and produced with the guidance of expert teachers
Bancamiga Banco Universal and the MFM Reading Foundation held the first closing ceremony of the “Image and the Word” program, an initiative that fosters creativity and the development of literary skills in elementary school students.
The event took place at the MFM Foundation and featured prominent participation from the directors of both institutions, teachers, and the program’s key figures: 72 students from La Santísima Trinidad School in Los Magallanes, Catia; Prisco Villasmil School in Antímano; and Enrique De Ossó School in Artigas, Caracas.
José Simón Elarba, President of the Bancamiga Board of Directors, highlighted the bank’s commitment to education and culture. “At Bancamiga, we firmly believe in the transformative power of reading and writing. This program is a demonstration of our support for emerging talent and the future of new generations. In the next school year, this initiative will reach other educational institutions,” he stated.

Elarba also expressed his gratitude and congratulations to the Bancamiga Social Responsibility team, led by its director, Milagro González, and to all the MFM Foundation employees who provided their decisive support.
For her part, Mariana Flores, president of the MFM Reading Foundation, emphasized the importance of strategic alliances to promote social projects. “We thank Bancamiga for its vision and support. The Image and the Word has been an enriching experience that has allowed many young people to discover and enhance their voices through literature,” Flores stated.

Each publication seeks to strengthen the participants’ connection with the book, as an object and source of inspiration
The author and director of the program, Lorena González, shared her enthusiasm for the achievements. “It has been an honor to guide these young people in their creative process. Seeing how their ideas materialize into words and transform into stories through interaction with teaching artists is truly gratifying. With this project, we are positively influencing the learning processes of fifth-grade elementary school children, fostering the development of new autonomy through a love of reading and creativity,” she commented.

The most moving moment of the day was the students’ presentations, who had the opportunity to read their texts to the audience and attendees, as well as present their hand-edited stories, under the guidance of teaching artists who, during the workshops, helped these young people explore and develop their creative potential.
