Apple will have to pay a multimillion-dollar fine for delays in the launch of Apple Intelligence

Apple was fined €213 million for delays in the launch of Apple Intelligence and the new Siri

The tech company Apple faces a €213 million fine – about $250 million – due to delays in the launch of Apple Intelligence and the revamped Siri.

The lawsuit was filed in March 2025 “on behalf of iPhone buyers compatible with Apple Intelligence.” At the time, the plaintiffs argued that the company “had announced generative artificial intelligence features that were not available when expected and that, in some cases, could take years to reach the market.”

It is known that the Genmoji and Image Playground tools were incorporated later than planned. Regarding Siri’s new AI-powered capabilities, these are not yet available and are expected to arrive with iOS 27.

Although Apple agreed to a settlement with the plaintiffs last December, the situation remains unfavorable. Regarding the fine, “the company will pay $250 million to those affected. The estimated compensation is about $25 per device, although it could rise to $95 depending on the final number of claims.”
