Apple announced that Mac Mini production will soon move to Houston, Texas, as part of a strategy to diversify risks, strengthen its presence in the US, and focus on implementing AI in its factories
In an unexpected move, Apple announced that it will soon begin producing its Mac Mini in Houston, Texas. The company clarified that this is not a permanent exit from Asia, but rather a strategic step to focus on key objectives.
Apple stated that this initiative to “make everything in-house again” is part of a vision focused on using artificial intelligence in its facilities, strengthening its presence in the country, and diversifying risks.
The company announced on February 24th that it will begin Mac Mini production in Texas as part of a strategy to “strengthen the production of advanced artificial intelligence servers, a key type of hardware for data centers and large-scale AI services.”
In addition to the production line in the United States, Apple announced the creation of an Advanced Manufacturing Center in Houston, “a space of approximately 20,000 square feet (more than 1,800 m²) focused on hands-on training in assembly technologies. The initiative includes training for students, employees of suppliers, and local companies, strengthening the talent pool in the region.”
