Android is the most used mobile operating system on cell phones

The Android operating system is positioned as the most used by mobile phone users, above iOS and the iPhone

A recent study by StarCounter places the Android operating system as the most used by mobile phone customers globally, achieving a victory over iOS and the iPhone.

The advantage of the mobile operating system of the technological company Google, according to the firm and corresponding to last June, reflects its permanence in the top of the most used worldwide, “with a market share greater than 72.15 %.” While its main competitor, iOS, reaches 27.19 % of the market share.

Users have the power to decide when choosing the operating system that best works for them. Although Android dominates globally, “iOS has managed to consolidate its leadership in certain key markets. The United States, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Japan and Australia are some of the countries where Apple cell phones are most popular.

The market is a roulette wheel where the brand plays an important role. In this sense, Apple and Samsung are the main suppliers of smartphones globally, with more than half of sales.

Apple’s market share is higher than Samsung (27 % vs 23 %). They follow “Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme and Huawei, which complete the top 7 of the most important manufacturers in the sector.”
