Amazon works on a social network

The online shopping platform is preparing its shopping app to adapt the style that is usually seen in a social network

Amazon is preparing a novelty for its mobile application that will bring the style of social networks to its shopping app, with which users will be able to see products in a feed of images and videos and interact with them.

The technology company is preparing a new portal accessible from its application, a project known internally under the name of Inspire, which would be displayed with a diamond icon on the home page.

This section would adopt a style more similar to that of social networks, with a feed with products, which users will be able to share or mark a “Like”, and which will also allow them to buy the items they show.

An Amazon spokeswoman said the company is “constantly testing new features that help make users’ lives a little easier.”

According to a source close to these plans, the feed is already being tested internally, being visible to a reduced group of company workers.
