Microsoft and Meta join forces to bring Workplace and Teams together

Both companies announced the integration of these two services in order to facilitate communication without the need to jump from one application to another

Workplace announced two new integrations for companies, among which is the incorporation of Microsoft Teams within this service developed by Meta, Facebook’s parent company, in order to facilitate communication without the need to switch between the two applications.

Through a statement, Workplace announced that Microsoft and Meta agreed to integrate this team video conferencing service from Teams, used mainly in companies, to this tool created by Mark Zuckerberg’s company that serves to put people in contact members of a business organization.

With this new free service enabled, the company believes that “it will make it even easier for employees to keep up-to-date with important information and open more opportunities for feedback and engagement with the entire company”, as indicated in the writing.

To this novelty is added the possibility of transmitting the meetings that take place in Teams to the Workplace groups, so that users can reproduce them, as well as the events that take place in this space live from any application they are using in the moment in which these take place or visualize it later in streaming.

According to the statement, despite being announced now, it will not be until 2022 when companies will be able to reproduce meetings and transmissions from Teams to Workplace.

“We have a shared vision of offering our customers choice and flexibility, so it made sense for us to come together to help them unlock collaboration and break silos within their organizations”, said Jeff Teper, corporate vice president of Microsoft Teams.
