Apple introduces the iOS 15 operating system

The technology giant makes the Face Time video calling service available to Android and Windows users

Apple introduced a new iPhone operating system, iOS 15, which updates the FaceTime video calling service to be accessible to Android and Windows users, in the style of Zoom, the most popular platform of its kind since the Covid-19 pandemic broke out.

The new FaceTime introduces the ability to create links for calls that can be shared with other users, allowing access through the web to those who are not using Apple devices, something that was not possible until now.

In addition, it launches a grid display system, in which all the participants in the call appear with the same dimensions next to each other, and the portrait mode to automatically blur the backgrounds.

Another improvement in FaceTime is the inclusion of spatial audio, so that in a video call with several participants, the voice of each of them will sound as if it came from the same place where that person appears on the screen (upper corner right, lower left corner).

Concerning the sound, the updated version of Apple’s video conferencing platform is capable of detecting and eliminating background noises such as construction sites or vacuum cleaners, so that the conversation can be heard as clearly as possible.
