India to remove 15 crypto platforms for non-money laundering law

Fifteen crypto platforms were notified by the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) of non-compliance with India's anti-money laundering law, prompting authorities to demand the removal of their applications and URLs from public access

In a further step against cryptocurrency illicit activity, India’s Financial Intelligence Unit notified 15 digital asset platforms that their applications and URLs must be removed from public access for non-compliance.

According to the FIU notification, the fifteen platforms allegedly violated the Anti-Money Laundering Act and therefore face blocking. “The practical scope will depend on the implementation of the requests and the responses submitted by the companies.”

The list of sanctioned platforms “includes Weex, Blofin, Bitunix, DigiFinex, and Toobit, as well as Rezorex, XT.com, Latoken, WOO X, and Pionex. ChangeNow, SimpleSwap, FixedFloat, WhiteBIT, and Guardarian are also listed.”

The FIU is clear about the obligations of local and foreign exchanges regarding registration, requested transaction reports, and penalties for non-compliance.
