In Venezuela, the State of Emergency is in force due to the earthquakes of June 24

The country declared a State of Emergency through the Extraordinary Official Gazette number 7,039. The document details the deployment of technical, human, financial or material resources to address the damage caused by the earthquakes of June 24

After the earthquakes of June 24, Venezuela decreed a State of Emergency throughout the territory, through Extraordinary Official Gazette No. 7039.

Through Decree 5,364, dated June 24, the State of National Emergency was declared to deploy technical, human, financial or material resources to address the harmful effects caused by seismic events.

According to the information published in the OG, the General Staff was formed, made up of the Sectoral Vice Presidents of Politics, Citizen Security, Economy, Public Works and Services, Social and Territorial Socialism and Science, Technology, Education and Health.

The guidelines were established for the action plan that defines the “forms and modalities of participation of citizens, as well as private legal entities, in response to disasters in the affected areas as well as the rehabilitation or reconstruction that may be necessary.”

Likewise, Juan Ernesto Sulbarán Quintero was appointed the Sole Authority to respond to the harmful effects caused by said seismic events.

On the other hand, the National Directorate of Civil Protection and Disaster Administration has the power to dictate, by way of exception, the pertinent measures to guarantee the basic services necessary to citizens, as well as the restitution of the affected infrastructure and the overcoming of the inconveniences caused.

It was also established that “the Ministry of Popular Power for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace, directly or, through the National Directorate of Civil Protection and Disaster Administration, may dictate and execute, or have executed, the temporary occupation of public and private institutions and establishments, lots of land or areas that are required for the care of the affected population and sectors and may also execute, or have executed, the requisitions of goods and services essential for the satisfaction of the needs of the affected population.”

These are some of the most notable provisions of the Extraordinary Official Gazette No. 7,039, which govern the country.
