Venezuela manages special $200 million reconstruction and technical assistance fund

Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, announced the creation of a $200 million recovery fund to assist the population following the June 24 earthquakes

Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, announced the creation of a $200 million reconstruction and assistance fund.

Rodríguez emphasized that this fund “will allow for the immediate allocation of emergency relief funds to affected families, in addition to centralizing supplies at the Almacenadora Caracas, La Carlota, and La Guaira Coliseum collection centers.”

She also spoke about the recent meeting with representatives from the U.S. State Department and the International Monetary Fund regarding cooperation and multilateral audits.

She also referred to the humanitarian aid received, stating that “147 countries have expressed solidarity with Venezuela,” support that includes 31 multilateral organizations and the opening of an account at CAF for housing donations.
