Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, announced this Thursday, April 16, the appointment of Luis Alberto Pérez González as the new president of the Central Bank, replacing Laura Guerra, who had held the position since April 2025.

Pérez González is no stranger to the regulatory body, having served as the institution’s vice president and a member of its board of directors since April 2025.

The appointment signals a restructuring of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV) encompassing the entire national banking system.
