Thousands of people gathered in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican from early hours to witness the event, which marks a milestone in Venezuela’s Catholic history.
Pope Leo XIV officially declared both Venezuelans saints, along with five other Blesseds, during Holy Mass.

The canonization of these two illustrious Venezuelans will be followed by a grand national commemoration on October 25 at the Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium in Caracas.
