The second candidate, Friedrich Merz, belongs to the Christian Democratic Union-Christian Social Union, and bases his proposal on conservative values ​​as well as a firm stance against immigration.

Then there is Robert Habeck, candidate of the Greens. He is the regional president of the party and current Minister of Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas.

Alice Weidel, the only woman in the electoral race for the position of chancellor, represents the Alternative for Germany party.
