Cybercrime on the rise in Venezuela

According to the director of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC) of Venezuela, Douglas Rico, the number of cybercrime has had a worrying increase in the country

The number of cybercrime has increased in a worrying way in Venezuela, according to the director of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps, Douglas Rico.

During a television interview on November 7, Rico highlighted that cybercriminals use common but improved methods to attract their victims, such as fraudulent messages and phone calls.

The CICPC is working to reduce cybercrime, which, according to the official, has been increasing since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Rico warns citizens to be alert to any suspicious call in which they are asked for personal data, bank accounts and other applications, since they could violate their privacy.

If in doubt, Rico advises not to provide information and if you are the victim of a cyberscam, go and file a complaint with the CICPC.
