Microsoft prohibits the use of Android phones by employees in China

The technology company Microsoft prohibited its employees in China from using Android mobile phones, after distributing iPhone 15 equipment among them as a security measure

Microsoft employees in China are now required to use iPhones, after the technology company banned Android phones citing security vulnerabilities.

The measure is mandatory for workers in the Asian country, who must also use the Microsoft Authenticator password manager and the Identity Pass application.

Microsoft has made the decision after the serious security problems suffered in recent months due to hacks and leaks.

Password management tools can be downloaded from the App Store, in iOS version, and Google Play, in Android, which is a problem in China.

After the United States veto of Huawei, Google services cannot be used. In this sense, brands like Xiaomi in China use their own platform.

Microsoft has opted for a radical measure such as banning the use of Android devices when launching the Global Initiative for a Secure Future.

Its employees in China can only use the iPhone 15 in their work affairs, since the App Store is available in the country.

Imposition is still a problem for employees, given that the equipment is expensive, and they must pay it in cash. It is unknown if Microsoft will make a massive purchase and pay part of the cost of the iPhone 15 to help workers.
