Venemergencia Group strengthens medical excellence with continuing education program

One year after its implementation, the program led by the Urgent Care Clinical Services Management for physicians within the Venemergencia Group's healthcare ecosystem has achieved over 90 % satisfaction, promoting evidence-based medicine, standardized criteria, and updated protocols

With the aim of providing up-to-date medical tools and ensuring the highest quality of care, Venemergencia’s Urgent Care has consolidated its Continuing Medical Education Plan, a comprehensive program that reaches more than 200 healthcare professionals, including general practitioners, specialists, nurses, and bioanalysts, across its various locations nationwide and throughout Venemergencia’s entire service ecosystem: telemedicine, home care, and Urgent Care emergency rooms.

Launched on September 1, 2025, and approaching its first year of continuous implementation, the plan, designed by the Clinical Services Management, responds to the constant evolution of scientific knowledge. Its objective is to keep the medical team current with international guidelines for managing the most prevalent pathologies in emergency settings, such as cardiovascular emergencies, respiratory diseases, diabetes, and pediatric cases.

Dr. Gretty Rojas, Clinical Services Manager at Urgent Care, stated: “Medicine evolves rapidly, and international guidelines change year after year. Our main objective is to provide healthcare professionals with condensed summaries of evidence-based medicine so they can stay up-to-date and face any clinical challenge with maximum preparedness.”

Adaptive format and dynamic networking

The program is delivered 100% online with a schedule strategically designed to avoid interfering with on-call shifts and patient care routines. Following an internal evaluation that yielded over 90 % satisfaction, the physicians themselves requested increasing the program’s frequency to a weekly schedule, with an average attendance of between 50 and 80 professionals per session from various locations across the country, including Caracas, Lechería, and Maracaibo.

“The continuing medical education plan provides us with a fundamental level of knowledge in the face of scientific advancements. It guarantees quick and accurate access to updated guidelines to offer patients safe, effective, and evidence-based care,” stated Dr. Anny Sánchez, a physician at the Urgent Care Maracaibo branch.

Exchange of knowledge and internal talent

One of the plan’s greatest strengths is that it fosters the exchange of real-world clinical experiences through the presentation of successful cases and the participation of the network’s own specialists as instructors. An example of this was the module focused on the pediatric management of Febrile Syndrome, taught by staff members of the institution.

For Dr. Alexis González, a pediatrician at the Urgent Care Torre Xerox facility and facilitator of the pediatric module of the training program, this space is important because: “In urgent medical care, speaking the same clinical language and having unified criteria is essential for acting quickly and accurately. I noticed a highly committed team, eager to exchange experiences. These spaces not only raise the quality of service but also guarantee the safety and well-being of pediatric patients and their families.”

In addition to scientific rigor, the program includes a strong focus on soft skills, ethics, and the humanization of healthcare. Through these modules, transparent and empathetic communication is fostered to clearly explain diagnoses and procedures to both patients and their families.

With this program, Urgent Care of Venemergencia reaffirms its commitment to continuously raising the professional level of its team and transforming primary emergency care in Venezuela through technical training, collaborative work, and empathetic service.
