Zoom removes the 40-minute time limit during holidays

The video calling tool announced that during the remainder of December there will be no such limitation for non-paid users

The Zoom platform will temporarily remove the 40-minute limit for free account video calls, so that users can connect with family and friends at celebrations that will take place around the world in the coming weeks.

Video calls made by users with free Zoom accounts on the last day of Hanukkah, Christmas Eve and Christmas, New Years Eve and New Year, and the last day of Kwanzaa will not be cut off after 40 minutes are reached.

It is “a show of appreciation” for all users of the platform “for an extraordinary time“, as explained by Zoom in a post on their official blog.

“Whether they meet on the last day of Hanukkah, celebrate Christmas, ring in the New Year or mark the last days of Kwanzaa, those who connect with friends and family will not be interrupted”, the company said.

Users should not take any action; the limit will be removed automatically on the specified dates.
