YouTube has released a new design of its homepage for computers and tablets with more information about the video and higher resolution previews. It also announced that it is working on the introduction of themes in its desktop version to customize this page.
The new YouTube homepage was uploaded to official stores this Thursday. It is expected to be available for computers and tablets with iOS and Android operating systems, as reported by the company in a statement.
The new design includes longer titles and more complete thumbnails and the previews have a better resolution. To make the page layout more clear, some blocks of content were removed, and channel icons were added below each video, to make it easier to recognize the creators.
In addition, the computer version of the video platform introduced the possibility of adding content to the queue for viewing it throughout the session, which was already available for mobile. The same goes for the function that allows you to stop recommending a channel, which is also active for computers.
YouTube is currently working on a new feature that it plans to introduce very “soon” on computers, such as the ability to customize the homepage through related topics and videos. This function, active in smart devices, will also reach computers and tablets.
