The novelty is a biometric authentication system that will have every user available if they has an infrared webcam on the computer. Windows Hello can be used for facial and fingerprint unlocking, although emphasis will be placed on the first one.
Windows Hello is the biometric recognition platform of Windows 10, you can verify the identity automatically using a personal feature, so you will not need to resort to a password or PIN, but use a body part.
The tool can implement different recognition methods depending on the hardware installed on the computer. If the user has an infrared camera he can configure the facial recognition system and if he has a keyboard with a fingerprint sensor youis able to use this fingerprint to start a session.
Windows will use the infrared of the webcam to illuminate the face and take a detailed picture of it. The image is stored on the computer and compared to a new facial scanner when the user logs in to make sure it is the person.
The facial recognition of Windows Hello can also be used in a collection of applications in the cloud as Dropbox or Onedrive. In addition, it serves to protect purchases in the Windows 10 application store.
