WhatsApp will launch system to make mobile payments

Apparently the instant messaging application is already in talks with several digital payment companies in Indonesia to offer the service

WhatsApp is already in contact with various digital payment companies in Indonesia to soon enable a new mobile transaction service in that country.

The purpose of the company is to try to take advantage of the gigantic sector of electronic commerce, which has registered a rapid growth in that Asian nation recently.

If it is possible to establish the system in Indonesia, the country will become the second to announce that it wants to implement this type of payments by WhatsApp, since the first to publicize the method was India some time ago.

Although India had already adopted the new payment system, Indonesia proposes something different, since its intention is to offer direct payment between peers, making in this case the application serve as a platform which will support payments through some internal systems called “digital wallets“.

The system will have a strict regulation by the authorities of the country and will also have a licensing system, which will allow the method to be one of the safest to be established in the country.
