The instant messaging platform WhatsApp is ready to beta test the Advanced Chat Privacy setting for iOS and Android, which will allow you to disable automatic media downloads and conversation exports.
The Advanced Chat Privacy setting “has appeared in the beta versions of iOS (25.10.10.70) and Android (2.25.10.14) as an option that can be activated, which restricts the sharing of messages, photos, and videos in conversations.”
Its function is to prevent “media files from being automatically saved to the device’s gallery,” in addition to disabling the export of conversations.
It will take effect in both individual and group chats and will prevent the disclosure of sensitive and private information without permission.
Users will be able to enjoy a new layer of security when using the app on their mobile devices.
