Whatsapp will include “boomerang effect” for videos
The instant messaging service will develop a new function to record 7-second clips to be played in a loop
WhatsApp works on the development of a new function that allows to record videos of less than seven seconds that are played in a loop by means of the ‘boomerang’ effect, although at the moment it is in the testing phase and only in Apple’s iOS operating system .
As the WABetaInfo media has announced, in WhatsApp trial versions the messaging service has been developing in recent weeks a video function with a ‘boomerang’ effect similar to that present on other platforms such as Instagram.
The option to record this type of videos is in the WhatsApp video panel, which allows to convert videos to animated GIF images, and with which it is possible to convert videos less than seven seconds long. These videos can then be shared with other contacts.
The new feature has begun to be introduced in the WhatsApp version for the iOS system, but not for Android mobiles, and at the moment it is not enabled in the definitive application for users.
