WeChat is the multipurpose Chinese application

With more than 1 billion users, WeChat serves almost for everything in the Asian country and is the headache of banks

The application supports in the same interface the Chinese equivalents of Facebook, WhatsApp, Venmo, the Paypal digital wallet, the Candy Crush videogame, the Tinder dating tool and the Amazon online store. In addition, it has additional functions such as scheduling a medical appointment, booking flights or seeing how crowded a specific place is.

At WeChat there is a kind of mini-app store that brings access to videogames, pay bills, file police reports, call taxis, conduct videoconferences and access banking services.

The powerful tool serves 1,000 million mobile users who exchange about 45,000 million messages a day. Some experts say that the popularity of the platform is that most of the Chinese first met the Internet through a cell phone.

WeChat forms just one part of Tencent; its parent company that has a market capitalization of US $ 398,011 million and was founded by Ma Hauteng known as Pony Ma; one of the richest men in the world.

From the conglomerate of the company Tencent they are part of social networks, digital payment processors, news platforms, videos, cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence laboratories and the biggest creator of videogames.

In China there is no Facebook, Google, WhatsApp or Instagram but WeChat compensates that has received subsidies since its creation in 2011. There are plans to integrate it with the country’s identification system. It is worth emphasizing that there is no application in another country comparable to WeChat.
