This Monday, after the departure of the president of the United States Donald Trump from the hospital, Wall Street closed the day with profits.
At the end of the day’s operations on the New York Stock Exchange, the Dow Jones (main indicator) gained a total of 465.83 points, thus standing at 28,148.64 units.
Meanwhile, the Nasdaq index, which brings together the most important technology companies, rose 2.32% or 257.47 points, to 11,332.49 units.
It should be noted that all corporate sectors ended the day in green numbers, the most notable being the energy sector with 2.9%, followed by technology with 2.27%, among others.
Wall Street decidedly opted for purchases throughout the day due to the expectation that Trump would be discharged this Monday, an end that he confirmed with a Twitter message in which he also urged his followers not to be afraid of covid-19.
