Volkswagen approved a new investment in its software faculty

The board of directors will have 54 million dollars to form the first promotions of Fakultät 73 students

The board of directors of the German automaker Volkswagen approved about 54 million dollars to form the first student promotions of its own software faculty, “Fakultät 73”.

At the beginning of March the second year of the race begins, while another hundred students will begin with the program. The first group entered the “Fakultät 73” one year ago, a third group will be added next September.

Volkswagen explained that 60% of the investments are destined to the salaries of the participants of the training courses.

The “Fakultät 73” is part of the Volkswagen Group’s strategy to develop more electronic software and applications on its own instead of having to acquire them from external suppliers.

With this strategy, the vehicle manufacturer hopes to reduce the strong dependence on US technology giants.
