Verge blockchain attack causes millionaire losses

The platform presented the incident as "a denial of service (DDos) attack executed on XVG2 mining groups"

After an attack on the vulnerabilities of its blockchain, the Verge platform has lost approximately 35 million XVG, which translates into more than 1.7 million dollars according to the latest cryptocurrency quote in CoinMarketCap.

Apparently, the hackers exploited the same fault with which they accessed the system the last robbery (from which they subtracted 250,000 XVG), using the Scrypt algorithm through which they were able to extract multiple blocks just seconds apart.

Users of the community were who assumed the task of reporting the failure through screenshots, noting that, even after the attack, the platform had not eliminated the error.

For its part, Verge presented the theft as “an attack of denial of service (DDos) executed in mining groups of XVG2″, in an attempt to minimize the magnitude of the damage to the community of users.

This cryptocurrency has been a victim on multiple occasions of attacks on its system and its social networks (its Twitter account was hacked in January). In addition, faults were disclosed in its platform, such as vulnerabilities that implied the exposure of users’ IP addresses.
