Venezuela’s economy grew 8.5 % from January to September

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, indicated this Monday, December 2, that the growth of the Gross Domestic Product during the first three quarters of 2024 was 8.5 %.

Maduro highlighted that the country has completed 14 quarters of economic growth. He added that “agriculture grew 6.2 %, the manufacturing sector 4.6 %, trade 6.2 %, mining 21 %, construction 25.9 %, and the oil sector 14 %.”

Maduro referred to the October inflation increase reported by the Central Bank (BCV) at 4 %, indicating that this increase “is due to an overheating of the economy due to the growth of all trade, the growth of internal credit, the growth of the productive sectors and the economy.”

The president is confident that the country will continue on the path of economic expansion and stability.
