Venezuelans will require a visa to visit Dutch Caribbean countries

The islands of Aruba, Curacao and Saint Maarten will begin to apply a series of measures that will be announced soon

From April 1st of this year, the islands that make up the Dutch Caribbean will require a visa from Venezuelans to enter their territory.

This measure, announced in October last year by Foreign Minister Stef Blok, was backed by the prime ministers of Aruba, Curacao and Saint Maarten.

This temporary visa requirement is part of a broader package of measures that will be applied over time to the Venezuelan community.

The package includes the introduction of a travel authorization system and an advance passenger information system, as well as pre-boarding controls.

“Due to manageability reasons, the number of visa applications for the Dutch Caribbean will be maximized at 8,000 per year“, Blok said at the time.

The implementation of a visa requirement for Venezuelans is adjusted to the Kingdom Visa Law and will only apply to the Dutch Caribbean, with a maximum duration of 90 days. The decision has no effect on the entry of Venezuelans into the Schengen territory of the European Union.
