Venezuelans turn to the dollar as a means of payment

It is one of the consequences of electrical system failures that have occurred in Venezuela damaging the dynamics of the economy and the normal functioning of banks

The population of the Caribbean country must face insecurity, delays in their routine activities, paralysis of the educational system and supply of gas, water and transportation due to recent blackouts In Venezuela.

Electricity cuts due to alleged attacks on the facilities of the Guri dam, at the State of Bolívar, affects the country keeping it practically paralyzed.

The economy, the productive apparatus and the normal life in Venezuela are restricted. The citizens, who had already been facing difficulty in obtaining cash in banks, have chosen to pay for consumption and purchases in dollars since bank agencies are operating in special hours due to power outages that restrict normal operation.

Meanwhile, bank agencies do not have enough cash to meet the demands of the population. This has led citizens to use the dollar as currency to cancel in stores and supermarkets, pharmacies and other businesses.

Speculation has spread because the merchants are looking for greater benefits through the payment of services in dollars, to the detriment of people who do not have cash in bolivars or are faced with the need to pay with this currency because the points of sale do not work for the lack of electricity.
