Venezuelan exports drop to lowest level in 33 years

The data of the Department of Commerce of the United States reveal that the commerce in the month of March generated income for Venezuela of hardly 159 million dollars

The exports from Venezuela to the United States registered a transaction amount of 159 million dollars in the month of March, being the lowest figure of the last 33 years.

This was stated by the US Department of Commerce, which made the comparison with the oldest data they record.

All this is the product of a series of measures that the U.S. government has been promoting, such as Donald Trump’s sanctions, as well as factors on the side of Venezuela such as the collapse of the oil industry and the massive blackouts that have paralyzed 70% of the country.

The figures show that at least since 1985, Venezuelan exports to U.S. soil had never been reported so low. Not even during the oil strike of 20022003. At that time the lowest record was 399.47 million dollars in January 2003.

Specifically, Venezuela exported only the figure of 1,751,000 barrels of oil in all of March, a drop of 70% with respect to the month of February. These sales generated an invoice of 88.39 million dollars.
