Venezuela wins Turkey 2024 World Robotics Olympiad

The Venezuelan team from the National Scientific Seedbed Program was crowned champion at the Turkey 2024 World Robotics Olympiad. Second and third place went to the Netherlands and Kazakhstan, respectively

This Saturday, November 30, the Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, announced the triumph of the Venezuelan delegation at the Turkey 2024 World Robotics Olympiad.

The Venezuelan team from the National Scientific Seedbed Program, under the name Robótics Dreamers, obtained first place in the Senior Future Innovators category of the World Robotics Olympiad, held in Izmir, Turkey. Second and third place, respectively, went to the Netherlands and Kazakhstan.

Robótics Dreamers, the Venezuelan delegation, is made up of the young people “Angelina Julieth Ferrer Romero (16 years old), Mariana Patricia Sánchez García (16 years old) and Alfredo Alí Ríos (17 years old). Their innovative proposal surprised the judges and was classified as one of the best in the competition.”

The Olympiad comprises four categories: Robotic Missions (senior and junior), Robotic Sports, Future Engineers, and Future Innovators (elementary, junior and senior) and this year has brought together some 3,500 young people from more than 90 countries, distributed in 550 teams.

The 2024 edition of this competition has been focused on proposals and solutions to address the global climate crisis.
