Venezuela welcomes new ambassadors from Nicaragua and Italy

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil received the Letters of Credence from the new ambassadors of Italy and Nicaragua on Monday, February 2

On Monday, February 2, diplomats Valezka Fiorella López Herrera, the new ambassador appointed by the Republic of Nicaragua, and Giovanni Umberto De Vito, from Italy, presented their respective Letters of Credence to Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil.

The meeting was marked by “best wishes for a tenure that will deepen the historic ties of friendship and cooperation mechanisms between both sister nations.”

According to the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, the arrival of both diplomats is framed “within the context of respect for sovereignty and self-determination. The accreditation of López Herrera reinforces the axis of regional integration based on principles of solidarity, while the arrival of the Italian envoy projects a work agenda focused on cultural and economic exchange.”
