Venezuela renews economic state of emergency decree
The announcement was made by Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez, who indicated that the Economic Emergency Decree will be valid for 60 days and could be renewed for an equal period
Last Friday, August 8, Venezuelan Executive Vice President Delcy Rodríguez announced the 60-day extension of the Economic State of Emergency decree, signed in April by President Nicolás Maduro.
The official stated that the extension is in response to “the successful implementation of the Decree to address the blockade against Venezuela and the global trade war,” adding that the renewal is recorded in Official Gazette No. 6,924.

He also explained that the economic emergency could be extended for another similar period to protect the country’s economy and “guarantee the full enjoyment of the Venezuelan people’s rights.”
