Venezuela negotiates zero tariffs for 400 products with China

Venezuelan Foreign Trade Minister Coromoto Godoy reported on a meeting during Expo Shanghai 2025, which aimed to secure zero tariffs for at least 400 Venezuelan products

During her participation in Expo Shanghai 2025, Venezuelan Foreign Trade Minister Coromoto Godoy held an important meeting to reach a zero tariff agreement for at least 400 Venezuelan products.

The minister, along with her delegation, led the meeting with Venezuelan business leaders seeking to diversify exports. Negotiations focused on zero tariffs and “allowed for significant progress in the proposed agreement with China, similar to the trade agreement previously signed with Turkey.”

Godoy indicated that they are working on “a proposal to protect our national industry. We will reach a win-win negotiation with zero tariffs for these products,” referring to an agreement that will benefit both parties.

The minister also mentioned Venezuela’s representation in China through 42 Venezuelan companies during the important international trade fair.
