Venezuela creates Non-Oil Exports General Staff

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ordered the creation by decree of the Non-Oil Exports General Staff.

As a precedent to this decree, on July 17, the National Assembly had already voted unanimously for the Law for the Promotion of Non-Oil Exports, which aims to facilitate the commercial exit of Venezuelan goods to the international scenario.”

According to Maduro, the Non-Oil Exports General Staff will be headed by the executive vice president of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, who will manage everything related to non-oil exports as well as the ministries and institutions linked to the export sector.

The president signed the decree during the Council of Productive Economy “Export Chapter” from the Port of La Guaira.

He pointed out that the General Staff of Non-Oil Exports will be in charge of “structuring all the paths and routes to diversify the quality products that Venezuela has and explore the enormous potential of the country to expand the presence of our exports.”

In relation to this decision, Maduro also ordered the New Agency for the Promotion of Exports of Venezuela, together with the economic actors of the country, to design the “Verified Protocol for Non-Oil Exports and Related Activities”, for the single payment for exports from Venezuela. The document must be ready in 30 days.

For her part, the executive vice president Delcy Rodríguez indicated that the technological platform through which the General Staff of Non-Oil Exports will be carried out is already ready.
