Venezuela activates the Agro-Food General Commission

Venezuela's interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, announced the activation of the Agro-Food General Staff, with the purpose of guaranteeing the country's food sovereignty and supply

Last week, the Agro-Food General Commission was activated in Venezuela by interim president Delcy Rodríguez.

The announcement was made last Tuesday, January 6, detailing that the objective of this commission is “to guarantee and strengthen food sovereignty and supply projects.”

The Agro-Food, Fisheries, Communal, and Industrial General Commission is “one of the two high-level bodies created to ensure administrative continuity and the nation’s comprehensive sovereignty.”

Among the members of this economic and productive team are Calixto Ortega, Sectoral Vice President of the Economy; Anabel Pereira, Minister of Economy and Finance; and Juan Carlos Loyo, Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture. Carlos Leal Tellería, Minister of Food; Julio León Heredia, Minister of Productive Agriculture and Lands; Luis Villegas, Minister of National Commerce; Alex Saab, Minister of Industries and National Production; and Ángel Prado, Minister of Communes and Urban Agriculture.
