USA generated 200,000 new jobs in May

The nation's unemployment rate fell to 3.9%, its lowest level in 18 years, pointing to rapidly improving labor market conditions

Estimates of the market consensus of the United States showed that the growth of jobs in the country increased strongly during the month of May, generating more than 200,000 new jobs.

For its part, the unemployment rate fell to 3.9%, its lowest level in 18 years, which points to rapidly improving labor market conditions that could increase concerns about inflation.

In addition, salaries grew at an annual rate of 2.7%, which represents a slight acceleration compared to the 2.6% increase registered in April. In the monthly comparison, the average income per hour worked increased by 0.3%, compared to the 0.1% increase obtained the previous month.

The private sector was the main driver of this growth, with the generation of 218,000 new jobs, thus compensating the creation of only 5,000 jobs among payrolls paid by the State.
