US judge stops TPS elimination for Venezuelans
This Monday, California Judge Edward M. Chen announced his decision to block Donald Trump's order to eliminate Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Venezuelans
Donald Trump’s decision to eliminate TPS for Venezuelan migrants was suspended this Monday by California Judge Edward M. Chen, providing temporary relief to the affected citizens.
As you may recall, President Trump ordered the end of Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelans, generating various legal consequences. For now, Judge Chen’s ruling seeks to curb the impact on the lives of thousands of Venezuelan families.
The judge indicated that if the TPS revocation were implemented, it would cause “billions of dollars in economic losses in the United States and jeopardize public safety.”
According to Chen, “the government did not present evidence that maintaining TPS would cause significant harm, justifying its decision to preserve the program.”
