United Kingdom works to protect its assets
The government is working on a bill that seeks to take care of this aspect of foreign buyers in matters of national security
The UK is finalizing the details of a new law that seeks to protect British assets from foreign buyers in the framework of national security issues.
Specifically, the “draft Law on Investment and National Security” will be presented to the House of Commons this week, according to an anonymous source.
As indicated, this framework plans to cover agreements with defense and infrastructure sectors, together with the inclusion of provisions to protect the intellectual property of foreign buyers.
The government of Boris Johnson, facing the exit of the single market of the European Union, wants to show that its economy will be open to the world.
At the same time, it also seeks to protect strategic industries to ensure that key intellectual property and critical national infrastructure are protected.
