UN asks for $ 2.5 billion for undeveloped countries

The organization, given the situation caused by the coronavirus, wishes to activate an action plan to face the economic situation that is being generated in the world

The United Nations Organization (UN) requested on Monday an aid package valued at 2.5 trillion dollars to be able to support the undeveloped countries.

This was detailed in the report prepared by the organization, which in the face of the situation caused by the coronavirus has been alert to provide the necessary help.

The general quarantine into which the world has entered has generally stopped the producing apparatus of many governments, so that the economic situation could worsen over time.

The measure requested by the UN will include a $ 1 trillion liquidity injection and a $ 1 trillion debt relief package, according to the document from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCCD).

The agency also said that a Marshall Plan for economic recovery that will be financed with development aid funds promised and never delivered will be necessary, and that the UN estimates another 500 billion dollars and capital control to avoid losses and reduce the lack of liquidity.
