Venezuelan doctors Ernesto Medina and Jon Paul Rodríguez, from the Ecology Center of the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC), obtained this Tuesday a distinction awarded by the Research.com site, as the best scientists in ecology and evolution in the world.

This was stated on social network X by the sectoral vice president of Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, who highlighted the work of both researchers, and affirmed that their “contributions are exceptional in the knowledge and teaching of ecology.”

The Research.com site takes stock of the careers of researchers who could be worthy of this recognition, establishing that “only those with a notable career are considered, with at least 30 articles cited more than 30 times in their area of study.”

In this sense, it is important to highlight that Dr. Ernesto Medina achieved the number two position in Venezuela and 4,932 on a global scale. First place was awarded to Jon Paul Rodríguez, “also a researcher at IVIC and current president of the Venezuelan NGO Provita.”
