Twitter warns users about losing inactive accounts
Social network announced that accounts without any interaction could be closed
Twitter said the platform will send a warn to users with inactive accounts which remains so for a long time. Users could lose the account if they do not activate it, according to technological advisor Matt Navarra.
The social network said through an email that users must accept the platform conditions, privacy policies and also the use of cookies to continue using the Twitter account.
Moreover, the client should enter his account before a prestablished date and if he does not do so “it will be eliminated from Twitter”. That is the message of Navarra published in the platform.
Twitter warns in the Support Center that in order to “keep active the account” the clients must write a tweet at least every six months. “The accounts could be eliminated permanently due to prolonged lack of activity”, they said.
In this sense, they say that the inactivity of an account is determined by the number of times the user login. And they added: “You must bear in mind that you could ignore that an account is inactive since not all the signs of activity are publicly visible.”
