Twitter users can choose who replies to their messages

The social network announced that the function is available from this Tuesday to users

The social network Twitter has announced the launch of a new function available from this Tuesday that allows users to select who can reply to their messages.

According to Twitter’s director of product management, Suzanne Xie, “the goal is for people to feel comfortable” on the social network and to have “meaningful conversations that weren’t possible before.”

If the use of this option spreads quickly, it could cause a significant change in the essence of this messaging platform. It was learned that from now on users will have three options: “that everyone can respond as up to now; that only those who the user follows on Twitter can respond; or that only those who are mentioned can respond directly”.

When the person using Twitter does not have permission to reply to a tweet, the option will be grayed out, indicating that it is blocked. However, the person can view the message and even “like” or retweet it.
