Trump threatens Cuba with a total embargo

The president of the United States said through his Twitter account he would apply a total economic embargo to Cuba if the country continues to support Maduro

“If Cuban troops and militia do not immediately cease military and other operations for the purpose of causing death and destruction to the Constitution of Venezuela, a full and complete embargo, together with highest-level sanctions, will be placed on the island of Cuba,” Trump said on his Twitter account.

It is not a secret that the president of the United States supports Juan Guaidó as the successor of Nicolás Maduro once he leaves power in the South American country.

During the events Venezuela lived this Tuesday after Gauido`s call to concentrate on the streets, Trump was accused of being behind a coup d’état.

However, Michael Bolton, chief of the National Security Service, denied such declarations and did not make any comment about a military intervention of the USA in Venezuela.

Spokespersons from the US Treasure Department said: “once the transition process starts and Maduro is replaced as the president of Venezuela, the international financial community would be ready to help with a rapid recovery of the bolivarian economy.”
