Trump finally banned any issues with TikTok

The US President signed a veto, which will have an initial duration of 45 days, and that will limit individuals and companies to have any relationship with this app

United States President Donald Trump signed an executive order prohibiting “any” transaction with the company that owns the TikTok mobile app, ByteDance, within 45 days.

Specifically, the order prohibits “any transaction by any person, or with respect to any property, subject to the jurisdiction of the United States with ByteDance or its subsidiaries,” according to the released text.

In his opinion, the dissemination in the North American country “of mobile applications developed and owned by companies in China continues to threaten the national security, foreign policy and economy of the United States” and specifically alluded to the threat posed by the application in particular.

According to the president, TikTok automatically captures “large amounts of information” from its users, including information about the Internet and other network activities, such as location and navigation data and search histories.

Thus, “this data collection threatens to allow the Communist Party of China (CCP) access to personal and property information of Americans” which would potentially allow “to track the locations of federal employees and contractors, build records of personal information for blackmail and corporate espionage.”

In addition, Trump criticized the application for “censorship” of content that the CCP considers “politically sensitive”, such as that relating to the Hong Kong protests or the Chinese Executive’s treatment of Uighurs and other Muslim minorities. “It can be used for disinformation campaigns that benefit the CCP,” he said.
