Tor browser now available for Android
The Tor network seeks to surf the Internet anonymously improving privacy and security and it is now available for Android devices
Sometimes the use of Tor is associated with the dark web and the way in which cybercriminals navigate the dark side of the Internet and take advantage of illicit activities. But the reality is that Tor is a tool that anyone who wishes to avoid leaving traces of navigation can use.
The novelty was announced through a statement the project team published saying that a final and stable version for Android users is already available on Google Play.
The official browser application was developed based on the FireFox code and after several months of work trying to offer the tool for users of mobile devices people have the ability to manipulate Tor on their Android phones and surf Internet privately and safely.
Although the version for smartphones is not as complete as the desktop version, the team is confident that the Android browser offers the same protection as the desktop service.
In the same way, the team responsible for Tor described the release of version 8.5 and ensured that there is no way to “bypasse” the proxy. They added that the form of isolation is enabled to protect users from tracking crossed sites. Also, defenses against fingerprint tracking are activated.
At the moment there is no version of Tor available for iOS, but the developers recommend users to install the Mike Tigas app if they want to use Tor on Apple devices.
