The Vatican hit by a case of corruption
Pope Francis lamented the scandal and was proud of the internal investigation that discovered the case
Internal investigation agency of The Vatican discovered a case of corruption that was immediately submitted to Pope Francis.
The Pope lamented the incident and ordered that it was denounced. He also praised the investigation that revealed the illegal action during the speech while flying back from Japan.
It was known that the internal justice of The Vatican follows an investigation in a circuit for the purchase of a prestigious building in the downtown of London with alleged funds from donations to the church.
To this respect, Pope Francis admitted: “it is the first time a financial scandal is revealed from the inside of The Vatican.” As a consequence, the director of the Financial Information Agency was suspended due to illegal financial actions.
Pope Francis declared it was not bad to invest some money from donations but settled that such transactions must respect ethics and the law.
