Panama Papers allowed the recovery of $ 1,200 million

Nations such as France, Germany, Australia and others have been able to recover part of what was lost due to tax evasion organized by a Panamanian law firm

After three years of the data revealed in the Panama Papers, at least 22 affected countries managed to recover about 1.2 billion dollars.

This was indicated by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) in charge of the investigation, who explained that the British Treasury recovered from the hands of the evaders 252 million dollars, Germany 183 million, France 136 million and Australia 92 million.

The ICIJ indicated that the 1.2 billion recovered so far could continue to increase as the investigations deepen further.

“The Panama Papers allowed governments to recover hidden funds and also, in the long term, modify the behavior and attitude of citizens,” explained the Consortium.

A significant number of countries began their investigations into the Panama Papers, a tax evasion plot that was organized by the Panamanian cabinet Mossack Fonseca.
