The new logistics center of Zalando will be located in Spain

One of the most important bets of the German giant is to increase the distribution network and overcome the power of Amazon

Spain will hold the new headquarters for the new control center of the German company, Zalando, and is expected to be fully operational during the first half of 2021.

According to the announcement made by Rubin Ritter, one of the CEOs of the German company: “This year we will continue with our investments to increase our European logistics network. Today we announce our plan to open a new local warehouse in Spain.”

He also said that “Spain is one of the largest fashion markets in Europe, and we have seen strong growth there in recent months.”

Although it is not known exactly where the new warehouse will be located, it is presumed to be near Madrid. However, this would be the thirteenth distribution center of Zalando belonging to a network that has approximately 31 million customers in 17 European markets.

The company’s distribution centers are characterized by having a high level of automation, among them the barcode scanning, a fast technology that can read about 140 images per second with an accuracy of around 95% to 98%, considerably improving the time taken to integrate the order and send it.
